Two days later, we have another swim-off for a final that has up to six roster spots up for grabs.

This time, Erika Connolly (née Brown) and Anna Moesch will duke it out for lane 8 in the women’s 100 freestyle final. Both swimmers clocked 54.09 in semifinal 1 and 2 respectively. Both of their times represented a drop from their prelims efforts.

UPDATE: The swim-off will commence at 9:55pm ET, according to Omega Timing.

Connolly earned an individual Olympic berth in this event in 2021, finishing 2nd to Abbey Weitzeil in finals.

Moesch didn’t initially qualify for Wave 2 of 2021 Trials, but she made her way there in another way. After placing 2nd in the 50 free in Wave 1, she earned herself the opportunity to contest the event a week later at Wave 2, where she finished 25th overall. She didn’t qualify for any other events, and now she has the chance to earn a spot on the Olympic roster.

As a reminder, there are up to six spots up for grabs tomorrow night. Provided there are no issues with the roster cap, four relay-only swimmers will be brought to Paris alongside the U.S.’s individual entrants.
